there used to be a list of the top five downloaded shows for each artist when you clicked on them from the browse.

It's still there. Click on this band's section, you'll see the top 5 downloaded items on the right hand side. Also the top 5 batting averages.

though, if you want to sort / see all of the top downloads by that band, i'm actually stumped on how to do that! I thought there was a sort by 'popularity' link on the right, along with 'relevance' / 'date' / 'date added', but there doesn't appear to be one, and looking through the advanced search options, I can't figure how to use that to make it pull the most downloaded either. there's got to be a way staring at me in the face. hopefully others will have the solution.

A recent related thread can be found here: http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=68601

Basically, there are two alternatives if you want to see more than the top five for a given band or collection: you can manually compose an URL as I did (the URL I posted for the whole etree collection makes a good starting point), or get the Firefox extension that Diana mentioned.

Unfortunately, the first requires some moderate technical expertise, and the second requires that you use Firefox. There is no general solution that will work for anyone at present.

thanks man for your insight! your posts are always very knowledgable. The worst part is that I've looked into that FF extension already. Doh! bad memory on my part. thanks again.
