Greetings -
I was reading the FAQ tonight and noticed under the section
"Downloading and playing movies ... What software can play the
downloaded movies" a request to contact you about players.
For Linux and UNIX (I use BSD/OS and FreeBSD) systems there is
an extremely versatile movie player called MPlayer which can be
found at http://www.mplayerhq.hu
MPlayer can handle many formats (VCD, DVD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and the list
goes on and on) including the Divx .avi files available on
www.archive.org. MPlayer might be a challenge to build for some
but it's worth the effort.
Cheers,
...
