Project name: The Myst and Riven Restoration Project
Abstract: Phase 1: To analyize and study the many web communities that appeared after the release of the CD-ROM computer game Myst, and later Riven.

Phase 2: To recreate the many puzzles that can be found on the these web sites, so that the current generation of Myst fans can experience this lost part of the online community.
Description: Phase 1 is nearly complete, and we are moving on to Phase 2.

The Riven Guild web site was home to most of the Myst community during 1999-2001. During that time the webmaster posted several puzzles, which revealed pieces of the Myst story as they were solved. Unfortunatly, due to excessive bandwidth usage, the Riven Guild web site had to be shut down on June 1, 2001

We need to be able to have access to the archives of the Riven Guild web site, in order to accurately recreate the puzzles that were originally hosted there. Many of these puzzles, like GRID, EDGE, and FutureContact were updated weekly. (When one part was solved, the solution was posted and a hint for the next part was revealed.)

The web site that we need was originally located at http://www.rivenguild.com We have obtained permission from Gordon F. Currie (the Riven Guild webmaster) to recreate these puzzles from the Riven Guild web site. We need access to the archives for the web site. It would me nice if we could get at least one complete snapshot of the site, but the more we can get the better.

Thanks for any help that you can provide.
