Getty is the Prelinger Archive's commercial agent, it provides broadcast quality copies as well as indemnification. Though Getty's revenue from the Prelinger collection has increased by 40 percent since the Archive started hosting it here, I would be surprised if Getty, as a commercial entity, would be interested in partnering w/ the Archive. It was announced that Getty content would be appearing on Google's video store, perhaps that is part of the lesson Getty has learned from the Prelinger experience. Terms have not been announced. Updated: Apparently Google Video has gone live, there are 2500 Getty films now available. They are midrange quality and have links to be able to license the material.
