Forum: sflan Subject: Linksys AP as client - help please

Hi! Well, it seems I have some access to sflan8 (thanks to Ralf and that rooftop).

I decided to try to turn my Linksys WRT54GS into a super client using Sveasoft Alchemy firmware. I cranked it up to 200 mw (can go up to 251 mw).

So, I have it set for Auto DHCP on the WAN side.
I set the Wireless settings from AP to Client and put 'sflan08' in the SSID area. I leave the channel at '6'.

Now, what app can I use to see the signal strength and other nets in the area like I would use for a wireless PC card?

Unfortunately, my laptop in my location doesn't see any other nets.

Let's get this far first.

Thanx in advance.
Bruce

The SSID for sflan8 is sflan8 not sflan08.

I got it working! Fantastic.
Hmmm...It seems to be working using the sflan08 but I will change it. You might want to notiate that on the website instructions. It says use two digits.
Thanx
Talk later
