I love a good 420 with some groovy instrumantal music playing in the background. To me instumental music is best for this purpose because its social and you can talk over it.

I've heard The New Deal and Dubconcious - both great bands on the LMA. Can you recommend any others?

Cheers

I don't know anything about "dub" bands (yet!) but I do love instrumental. Vorcza, Mofofunka, Mermen, Surf Coasters, Man Or Astroman (well, mostly instrumental there) have all been on my pick list in the last year.

The Surf Coasters or MOAM at least probably won't fit into a 420 interlude, however. ;)

I would love to hear about more instrumental bands, mellow or not.

Fel free to educate me on the "dub" thing as well!

Vocals for Lotus are a rarity. Most their music is instrumental, and I highly recommend them!

Diana, dub is a form of instrumental Raggae music. Often "dub" raggae is performed by a DJ who remixes existing music. For a prime exapmle sample this album: Augustus Pablo's "King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown" one of my alltime favorite albums and one of the best for a 420 interlude.

Diana, by the way you and the rest of the LMA crew are the best!! Hit me up for a donation anytime.

If you dig the pablo/tubby vibe...

These can't be found on the LMA, but nonetheless worth looking into, and are some of my favorites:

Scientist-Rids the world of the evil curse of the vampire
Scientist-Dubs culture into a parallel universe
Scientist vs. Prince Jammy-Big Showdown
Ranking Joe-Zion High
Yabba You-Dub it to the top
Ja-man Allstars-In the dub zone

Some newer dub sounds:
Groove Corporation-Dub plates form the elephant house
Hi-Fidelity Dubsessions 1-5
Boozoo Bajou-Satta
International Observer-Seen

Any of those would be conducive to an 'interlude' as you say...
