I have no idea if a biography of the guy exists.. but man, he sure was an interesting man, as you said Ridetheory, he sold himself out quite a bit. Maybe this was an Orson Welles type of thing to raise money for on the side projects.. Remember, he was one of the principal founders of the Cinerama technique!
