That's his mother, not his wife. I don't think Airman Pond was a doctor either. Perhaps his outfit bombed a village, killing this kid's parents, and now he is trying to do the right thing.

Hard to tell. I did like how the airman almost took a header running towards his new child. Does an adoption still count if you squash the child in question?

This newsreel was made in 1950 and the orphan Kim was five years old. That means he was born in 1945 and would be 60 years old this year. I wonder what his life has been like.

Yeah, I imagine it would be impossible to "find" the boy now. We don't know whether the kid took Pond's name or what, and ship records from that time are unavailible.

At least I found out what the President Cleveland looked like..
