Re: 4-14-85 Irvine Meadows |
Fie on Irvine!
Irvine is a miserable and mismanaged venue - at least it was in the 80's, and I'm never going back! Never had a good time in Irvine, and the last time I went I missed half the first set because of the police-state security lines.
There were some GREAT shows played in Long Beach.

Re: 4-14-85 Irvine Meadows |
I never understood how they could be so fucked up, Irvine was always a hassle . Parking, waiting in line (just let us in and we will buy your overprice products), the searches . But to be fair, some real stupid fan behavior, also .
The last time I was there (04 "Dead"?) , they had guys going up and down the aisles selling ice cream, etc. , yelling over the music , like this was a ball game . No one seemed to care . Again a lot of stupid fan behavior .
...But I never had less than good time seeing the Grateful Dead . It was just that some locations were better than others .
