Re: bit torrent issue |
Thanks for getting back to me.
I did download the torrent from the Grateful Dead show again but same results. I even downloaded a NRPS show that according to the bit torrent stats had 9 seeds at the time, same results.
I will try deleting all the data and grabbing the GD show again one last time. If this doesn't work I will just grab it via HTTP download.
Here are the files that I grabbed:
gd87-04-03.sennme80.clark-miller.24898.sbeok.shnf_archive.torrent
nrps1973-03-18.fm.weiner.21538.sbeok.shnf_archive.torrent
Thanks again and I look forward to using Archive.org bittorrent in the future.

Re: bit torrent issue |
Hmm, not sure what's going on!
For gd87-04-03.sennme80.clark-miller.24898.sbeok.shnf, I just grabbed the Torrent from the item (there's only ever been one made, so it's not an out-of-date issue...), and successfully d/led with both uTorrent and Transmission, got 100% of it.
I have slightly out-of-date versions of both, Transmission is on 2.51 MacOSX, forget for uTorrent.
We've noticed that Transmission can take a looong time to start up -- I just watched mine take maybe 90 secs plus to get going, maybe even 3 minutes, even when I kicked it to update trackers. But once it got going it was fast, faster than uTorrent I'd say.
I find uTorrent starts up much faster, I suspect it's something about exhausting DHT before trying webseeding or something.
Sorry it's giving you trouble. :/ We'd be interested to hear if you get around the problem what solved it, so we can add that to the FAQ. :/
