I notice that the new player has trouble with scrubbing, that means, it is hard to go back and forth to a particular point. I hope you do not take down the old player.
For more detail, when you go back and forth it kind of freaks out and often returns to the beginning. The bar cannot be easily moved.

try opting in to the "i prefer flash" link version of the new player
and that should likely work better for your OS/browser combo, then.

Why change from a player that worked just fine to a new player that doesn't? Why mess with a good thing?

it didnt work just fine, just so you know.
the old player had a lot of problems embedding reliably and in a "future proof" way. it also was spotty on iOS (iPad/iPhone/etc.)

The old player has worked just fine for me and if you'll notice, obviously for many others who are asking that it not be taken down.
