Lovely version, yes. But as good as some of those post-hiatus versions in '76-'77 were, they always sound frenetic to ears inured to 73-74. I like that they play with arrangements, but those later version mostly signal "cocaine" to me.

I don't find them to be frenetic. Fast, yes, but in a controlled way. There is some very tight, cohesive playing in those '76 and '77 “Eyes,” and I don't see how they are frenetic. Now some of those early '80s versions certainly are. And the cocaine use is clearly more apparent in those '80s shows
