Never saw them in a regular theater - envious!
Most of the values I found on wikipedia were seating capacities for sporting events, so with the floor open, as it often was, I figured roughly about 20-25% more than the seated capacity. This should not apply to the theaters you're talking about, your numbers are probably accurate.
I did see the JGB at a gorgeous little old opera house in New Haven, CT one time. Dance party! though I remember becoming frightened by the way the ancient balcony moved beneath the weight of all those bouncing Heads.
