Good question. They famously (well, famously if you're an alum) gave a concert at Wesleyan in May of that year, the day before Kent State, but this one really doesn't make a lot of sense. Mind you, I wasn't there; way too young :)

Ah -this has been discussed before - apparently it's a fake:

They could easily have played at Wesleyan in the afternoon and then in the evening in NY - but the Kinks debuting Lola at Wesleyan? Seems like I'd have heard about that ..

Disappointing, I guess I should take it down, it makes me look like a wannabe, not able to identify fake concerts.

I bought a couple of posters in SF that I new weren't the real deal but got them because they were cheap but I didnt know that the dates were BS. One is the closing at Winterland which I knew wasnt the real dead ( the famous Rose one I wish )and in fact is the exact same background as yours only with a different band shot and the 12-31-78 info ( which is correct ) and another one advertising a free show in GG park in the 70's which never ever happened. Man that one pisses me off

Oh darn. Quick, get on eBay and find more posters! You need to decorate your office!

There was a high-up Important Guy at the university where I used to work whose whole office was (is) a Dead shrine. I'd never seen his office until we had a group meeting there, and it was just covered with photos and ticket stubs and Jerry bears etc. The moral is: You can put lots of stuff up if you're high enough on the totem pole! So that promotion is your "go" button :-)

Update - I took it down, and moved it to the recycling bin. How stupid is it to put up a fake GD poster! This is depressing, I guess I should just order a SYF mousepad or something, rather than put up phony artifacts ...

I was going to offer you this one because I never got around to doin' anything with it but I think you can order it cheaper than I can mail it to ya.

I think the most songs I have found is about 30 and then I get bored and I start forgettin' which songs I have found so far and then I just kind of drift back to work...

I LOVE that 100 songs poster. Very cool up close. Very distracting to have nearby if you want to get work done though. Had it on my wall in college, and used to stare at it all the time after hittin' the ol' bongeroo. I found all but 5 songs, after many, many hours spent staring at it.
