I would be pretty weird if they followed a 74 with another 74 show ...
I would like some more early Keith please , but they might pick a pre Keith 71 show instead, as the first 2 Dave's feature Keith , to say nothing of the E72 box !

What's the matter with 74? I suppose sometimes the jams get a little scary. If you can't take the heat...
Though it has been a while since a hearty 71 show has hit the shelves, and any show with a Dark Star and The Other One is a killer.

For my part, summer '74 is my all time favorite period in Dead history, so I sure dug the general idea of a cleaned-up release, but... 07/31???? what about 2/24? 06/22-23? There's a variable host of other wall of sound shows with much better sound and more distinctly 74-ish performances i'd go to first. That being said, I'm happy with the return to complete shows. Road Trips bugged me.

Thanks for the recommendations, I need to hear the right show I guess. I do have 6/23 on cassette and also love 6/18 as well. You hit the nail on the head, AUDS are the way to hear '74

I like the weirdness of '74 but the sound of the drums and the vocals annoys me most of the time. If you wanna talk about heat, well, they don't seem to fire up the rock 'n roll quite as much as say, '71, '78. Dave's Picks 2; great eyes, ship of fools, horrible china doll. What do others think of Vol. 2?

Third disc has material from 10-21. Strange things happening at dead.net. Either they sold out already or they haven't set up the pre-order. They say there are only 2800 copies available but within 6 hrs of the email announcement it says they are out of stock and it hasn't even been put on the front page of the website.
