Just got here this morning, 20+ hours through Abu Dabi. Just feeling my way around today. A few nice jumbo Bigeye Tuna, cuisine is not as hot as Sigiri. Huge prawns and lots of Lion Lager. Hoping to go on a Leopard safari later this month. I'll keep you posted..

Hey, welcome to (roughly) my time zone!

The beach sounds darned nice right about now. We have it hot (albeit not Sri Lanka hot) minus the sand and waves. A balmy 95 degrees.

Good luck with the leopard spotting. I've done a couple of elephant-back safaris, which is really fun, but never seen tigers; rhinos and wild boar and other interesting critters, but big cats are pretty elusive. My husband has seen tigers, but not me. Maybe some time.

(Though not this time of year! It's 112 right now where tigers are found; I'm sure they're all sensibly resting in the shade, LOL.)

Enjoy your trip, and get over jet lag soon :-)

Actually not so hot now. Monsoon season here, heavy overcast with a breeze. Still enjoying the beach, beer and prawns!

I've seen big cats in Kenya and Tanzania, including a couple of Leopards, but I'm really hoping to get to Yala later in the month to see some Leopards!

Stay cool in Kathmandu!

Yala, eh? Yala is an ancient name for the area of Kathmandu where I live. No leopards, but definitely a lot of sculptures of lions or lion-ish creatures. I gather there's another Yala in Sri Lanka :-)

Will work at staying cool. Had electricity all day, which was nice since I'm a slave to the computer on a deadline project ... the electricity just went, sadly, and with it the fan. Ah well, at least it's evening! (For us, if not for the time stamp on the forum ...)
