Bringing Back OpenID |
I originally posted this is the Forums Forum by accident, I had intended to post it in the F.A.Q. forum, so I am re-posting it here as I think it is more suitable for this forum.
I am wondering why OpenID support was removed from IA Account login. I much prefer OpenID to using a username and password, it is far more secure for one. I know there was a problem with the OpenID implementation, which I reported a while back but I would have expected this to have been fixed rather than remove OpenID support altogether.
Will OpenID support ever be coming back? Don't forget there is a new OpenID standard called OpenID Connect

another case of started by person X, championed by persons Y, then over time noone championed and updated it as issues arose.
so we yanked it. never felt great about it, but we have to cut some features over time.... 8-(
