Very cool. I figured it would be a good time, even if you weren't too familiar with the tunes. I've seen all those guys live on several occasions, and they never seem to disappoint, especially Sammy. Satriani can be very showy, put few people can rip up the fretboard like he can, and it's very cool to see live. Sammy and Michael Anthony are great friends, and to see their on-stage chemistry really adds to the enjoyment of the shows for me. I know a few folks who have seen the recent Van Halen tours with Diamond Dave, and they have all noted how there is no interaction between band members. Coincidentally they just cancelled the rest of the their tour dates, the rumor being that they can't get along. What a shocker!
Having good seats is a huge plus as well. Being stuck in the nose-bleeds at a big venue can really take you out of the experience. And hey, $50 towards booze too! Can't complain about that. That's probably good for 6 entire mediocre beers!

6 mediocre papbst blues baby! I ahve heard the VH tour has been very cold on stage whereas these guys (chickenfoot) all seemed to like, respect and enjoy each other! I would recommend fopr anyone looking for a good rock n roll show!

Ha--what is IT with the "PBR"? My boys are all about that these days, and it has become the new mantra for a good time at the Tell House (eg, "hey, pa, I'll pick up some PBR and we can watch the Lakers get beat, k?"), though it probably only works since I don't drink anymore...

Well, like deadhead53 says, for the price it is good. Although I would describe it as “drinkable,” rather than good. But, it has also become somewhat of a fad in recent years, particularly among college crowds, and hipsters (I'll get to that in a moment).There have been loads of pop culture references to PBR which has helped increase it's popularity as well.
I was introduced to the craze of PRB about 6 years ago, with it being one of the staples for beer pong tournaments at college parties (Keystone is the current reigning champ). We drank it because we loved the old school cans and image of the company, as well as the PRB's association with hicks (

When we got a house off-campus, we would sit on the front porch drinking PRB's, and watch the Amish go by on horse and buggy. Then we would get stoned and go play with the wild Alpacas (they are really mean!), but that's another story.
Anyway, I did a little research, and apparently the main reason for the increase in PPR's popularity is those damn hipsters. I couldn't believe this:

Hey WT for me it is a good solid and inexpensive beer, that along with yuengling (although I can't get it in MA - I do have sources - 6 cases stocked away in the basement) for the money those 2 beers are good, inexpensive and way better than bud light, coors light and bud. I can't drink thick dark beer anymore kills me with argina! These 2 are it at my house and they both are brewed in the US
