This collection is temporarily disconnected from the source -- The Thousand Book Collection of the Universal Library hosted by Carnegie Mellon University: http://delta.ulib.org/zoom/record.html?id=14174

We've restored links to 550 of them, but to get to them all use the link that Lenny provided above.

I've tried following the links, but end up with a page that contains two empty text boxes, various buttons and arrows, but nothing from any of the books. Pushing the 'arrows' causes the page number box to increment/decrement, but nothing else changes. Entering something in the 'search' box causes it to pop up a page with the message 'Error accessing target document'.

Am I doing something wrong, or is it still broken?

Ok, I found out what I did "wrong".

I was trying to use Netscape/Mozilla instead of Internet Explorer. The site ONLY works with Internet Explorer, and NOTHING else. With other browsers, you will get all the boxes, but none of the images, no matter how you set up the tabs.

i think the interface may be a little confusing, but that link above is working. It's just that the default display format is set to 'TXT', and when pages of graphics at the start of books have been OCR-ed, you don't often see anything.

Change the menu item in the bottom left to 'PTIFF' and you can see the pages as they were originally scanned.
