"Reply to this Post" link is not working properly |
I was unable to directly use the "Reply to this Post" link in responding to the topmost post. here:
http://archive.org/post/408575/new-video-audio-player-opt-in-is-liveThe topmost "Reply to this Post" on the URL above was saved as follows:
http://archive.org/iathreads/post-new.php?reply=1&parentid=408575&threadid=408575&nested=1&subject=Re%3A%20new%20video%2Faudio%20player%20%27opt%20in%27%20is%20live%21&forum=movies
Selecting the "Reply to this Post" link, using left mouse key as would be expected, does nothing. I tried it several times but it does nothing.
As a result I had to open the "Reply to this Post" link in a new separate tab to be able to respond to it. --which I am doing now.
I am running Firefox 11.0 on Linux Mint Debian Edition. With all updates applied. I am not seeing this problem

Re: 'Reply to this Post' link is not working properly |
Your problem just happened to me this morning. So I right clicked and opened - then I wrote my problem and query but when I went to post my reply the message "Your post has been successfully applied" popped up for a split second then it defaulted to "error: you haven't chosen a forum". Since the "forum" was listed on my post for "Movies" I couldn't figure out what was going on. I went through this several times only to discover after I had refreshed my screen that my original post had been posted here about 6 times; so then I can do go back through and delete all of the extra posts. I see that someone else has posted their same message three times on here which indicates to me that I am not the only one with this issue.

Re: 'Reply to this Post' link is not working properly |
it uses some very basic javascript to request the "reply to" form from the server so it can inline show it (so you can see what you're replying to).
I put that change in maybe 2 months ago?
Anyway, sounds like there is a JS issue with your setup or something...
