Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
...but when you click play, it should bump right back to 0:39.
(does for me on chrome).
the issue is we try to detect the duration of each audio/video item
before the playback starts at all, so we can display a time duration
on the progress bar. sometimes that detected duration is slightly off
by a small percent, like in this item's case unfortunately.
but if you play it back, you should see all 39 seconds play!
can you say more about your embed issues?

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
Dear Tracey, Thanks your for your quick reply. I feel this lost at the end of the piece and I understand the difficult perhaps is the changing of format and I am sad because the virtual zapateado is broken.
About of embedded code I couldn´t to put in my website because it appears in the top of the page non in the place indicated and like a player.
By the way, I try to put an image in the page of Spiritual Flamenco but is not possible, I don´t find as to do it or I don´t understand as to name "identifier.jpg (where identifier is your item's identifier name)" I put
SolarMyriamSpiritualFlamencoPodQcast0.jpg but don´t appear the format JPEG in the metadata editor but the audio.
Thanks again for your support,
The Best, Myriam

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
hmm, for me, all 39 seconds of this play for me, even though the playlist says 34 seconds and so does the "controlbar" / play / volume area of the player -- until the playback starts (then it jumps to 39 seconds)

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
Hi Tracey, ´0:34´or 0:39´that is the question. I listen again 0:34 and could to jump until 0:39´I don´t doubt but if you listen my original file MP3 you listen the end.
I think that it is a problem of file formats.
Thanks again fot your support.
Have a nive week end, Myriam

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
Dear Myriam,
I believe this is now fixed.
I reproduced your excellent and patiently persistent bug report and pushed live a fix. Your item is now properly showing "39" in the playlists in all situations (before playback) and also "39" during playback in all situations (and thus our new player isn't cutting it off at "34" seconds like it was before).
so sorry about that, and thanks for helping to make Archive a better place!
best regards,

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
well, sh***********t 8-)
i suddenly seem able to reproduce what you've been patiently been reporting when i force to flash -- and i see the issue. the "ogg" file is the "derivative" from the "original" file which is the "mp3". oddly, the "ogg" is coming up as 34 seconds; the "mp3" as 39 seconds.
we prioritizing "derivative" times, and thus using 34 seconds. so if you're playing the mp3, you're *INDEED* getting cutoff ~5 seconds early, since it's treating the "duration" of 34 seconds as "stop after 34 seconds".
still looking how to uncode myself out of this nice little paper bag that i've gotten into.... 8-)

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
This is exactly the problem I'm having. The initial duration estimate is several seconds short, but in my case it is not corrected when play starts.
