I've always felt the Cornell dew was overrated too, but I've kept it pretty closeted for fear of being ostricized from the GD community. To my ears, it's always been, dare I say, kind of a rote version, with not a whole lot of fireworks. I could name at least 5-10 versions off the top of my head. That leave Cornell in the dust. I agree '74 probably has the best Dews, although I think personally '73 is close second. And I think '69 could be one of the the most underrated years for Dew- some amazingly powerful versions from that year...

I don't get it either. I find it to be one of the lowest points of that show, and overall a kind of boring performance of the song. I don't have very high regard for many post-'74 dews though. For me '74 was the peak year for the song. I feel the song kept getting better with each passing year up until the hiatus and then they never matched any previous versions, other than a few exceptions. The Cornell show was not one of those exceptions imo.
