You might already know this, but I'll bring it up anyway just in case: the US Copyright Office published cumulative original registration listings for motion pictures in four volumes: 1912-1939, 1940-1949, 1950-1959 and 1960-1969. These are easier to use than the yearly Catalog of Copyright Entries.
However, there are not such volumes for renewal registrations so the yearly CCEs must still be checked for those.

That is what I used for the original registration.
