Best of 91, along with the Meadowlands show in June.

Best post-Brent show. End of discussion. I just mentioned this one in the other tdih history thread. But this really deserves its own thread. Best show on tdih. The playing in so top notch. Not a weak moment in the whole show.

Yeah 10/27 is pretty monstrous. Howevah, any non-Mardi Gras show with an Iko loses points in my book.
Of the 4 in question I like 9/24 the best. Killer Althea, New Speedway is fun and DS>D>S>Foolish is excellent.

" Howevah, any non-Mardi Gras show with an Iko loses points in my book. "
That's an unfair criticism. The Iko is a monster version, and what about Mona?
I really think the 10/27 Althea is superior to 9/24. I haven't heard all of the 9/24 show so I can't fairly compare it to 10/27, but I doubt I'll change my mind. I much prefer the setlist on 9/24, but I don't think the musicianship is quite on par with 10/27.

Re: TDIH 91 a GREAT show from the 90's |
I simply don't like Iko. So I'll never consider Iko awesome. It's a fun party song, but musically it falls short. To me it's a kids song and I have the same reaction I get when a band plays Willie and the Handjive......it's bubblegum.
I think the difference in these shows is slight and "good, better or best" is simply a matter of personal preference.
Funny thing, I was at the Oakland shows and while I get nostalgic for 10/31, I get more pleasure from 9/24. That does not make it better, it just means it appeals to me.
BTW, IMO 10/31/92 is better than all of them.;);)nudge-nudge.

The Chicago>Kansas City>Denver run over that summer I thought were really tight. Each has its peaks but the KC shows really stood out in my mind. Check the shows out, there are some really crisp boards available on archive that really feature everyone well.
