2 second gaps between tracks |
I'm curious if any else has had problems with 2 second gaps being inserted between tracks (specifically GD live recordings) when burning to CD.
The software option to turn this off is selected. Just curious. I can manually fix the issue, but its kind of a hassle.

Re: 2 second gaps between tracks |
Make sure you are burning WAV files from the FLAC's or SHN's, and choose "Disc At Once". If you make audio CD's out of MP3's or Ogg's you might get blank spots.

Yeah, I was burning MP3s, not WAVs. I'll do the conversion and try again. I'l;l also 2x check DAO, not TAO. Thanks for the suggestion.

An older version of Adaptec. It's at a radio station I work at. Someone else gave a suggestion of burning WAVs, not MP3s which I'll try.

Or if you are stuck with MP3s you can try what I do; I anticipate the gap, then plug my ears and make some loud noises for a few seconds. Its like the gaps aren't even there. Cheers.

Re: 2 second gaps between tracks |
Dunno if anyone else uses Nero, but it's pretty easy to make a gapless disc. All you have to do is highlight all the files you're about to burn to the disc, right click, click on properties, and set the delay to 0 seconds. You'll have to put a 2 second delay on the first track, but seeing as how it shouldn't be segueing out of anything, you'll be ok.
I also use Nero because it has plug-ins available to burn audio cds directly from shn or flac instead of having to do the tedious conversion to wav before burning.
Friends don't let friends burn mp3s.

Re: 2 second gaps between tracks |
Many CD burning programs "default" to the 2-second gaps, and sometimes a person will forget to turn them off. I once received a show with the gaps, and I was able to repair it! It now sounds good as new... It was tedious work, but worth it. I'm very proud of that one!
