I Need Show Rec Please |
now.
I have Grateful Dead show-block-itus. Maybe you can help jolt me out out this stupor. Or maybe a long, carefree stay at a spa would? Either way I gotta get the show finder mojo back. And I'm bored, just bored, with all the usual suspects, no matter how divine. Help!

Re: I Need Show Rec Please |
Excellent recommendation - thank you.
Did they have Brent Mydland guesting on Minglewood? Joking! but that is one crazy-ass Keith solo.

Re: I Need Show Rec Please |
What, you come here for show recs? I come here to make dumb jokes and post pictures of secret twins :-)
How about something fresh and young and fun? 7/16/66 is a great, super-refreshing one. Or the wonderful 2/25/66 (or whatever it’s real date was – the Ivar show).
Or try something from early on that you haven’t heard. (If there IS anything, LOL.) I’m curious about 7/30/66. It’s gotten good mentions from some really knowledgeable folks here (Cliff, Dhamma), but my notes say that Phil called it "one of the worst performances I can remember." (Probably in his book. I actually take terrible notes, though I always mean to reform.) So you could listen to it and try to decide who you agree with and why.

Re: I Need Show Rec Please ....a good place to start |
4-1-90 this show has been putting a very large smile on my face, and found my self listening to it a few times. The recording is partially cutlers 24 channel mix which has an incredible amout of mids.
Outstanding versions of Everything especially;
Walkin blues
Althea
To lay me down
China rider is from without a net and have always loved it
Women
Stella blue is an all timer
And the sugar magnolia is otherworldly kinda nice
