Re: uploading new files to streaming player |
(Edit: 2:25 pm - Ahhh I see you have a player on page... patience... It can take a while before everything happens.)
If you are using a standard av format the site SHOULD derive the files and set up a player on page automagically.
You might want to use and industry standard format such as 128k or i92k if you aren't.
As far as 'using the same player. Two options. To actually use the same player and page, just edit the page... go to the files (not 'xml edit') tab or link and upload another file. Via the http/flash upload method when you click the "Done" button @ the bottom of the page the newly uploaded file SHOULD get added to the dl list and player.
The other way, which I recommend for a series of shows, is just create a separate page for each episode and upload to that page. use some sort of titling that will create a standardized url, and use the same 'tagging' each time in the appropriate panel of the edit page.
Here's an example of a news series I do that uses separate pages.
http://www.archive.org/details/tth_110217 If you put an '18' at the end of that string you'd get the next day's broadcast.
My "Subject" entry in the edit page: Travus T. Hipp;Cabale News Service;KPIG;Politics;News;Alternative News;U.S. Foreign Policy;U.S. Domestic Policy;Breaking Politics News;Realpolitik;Republican Family Values;Social Justice
It's the same every time with minor variations.
Hope that helped, and if you have a problem with the player appearing on page we'll need to know more about what you are uploading. Audio, Video, format... etc.
