Re: help |
How about: "Political views of still living Dead Heads: the pragmatic, the idealistic, and the naive...or, how I learned everything I know to be true to be crap at the Forum"
Don't forget to acknowledge us all!
Alternatively, you could extract all the military history lessons expounded upon right here...? Just cut and paste; it's all the rage!
[sorry, no real help; going outta town, so let me have it in my absence...I can take it]

I don't know that I want to let you have it, but it seems to me that Further should have named themselves the Still Living Dead. Have a good whatever you are doing.

Re: help/research paper |
That is a very broad question . Counting the formation/Warlock years , that's almost 50 years of history .
What interests you ? Maybe go with that to start and find GD media that relates to your chosen topic . There are few areas of GD history that have not been researched properly . And there are many sources usually of a particular area of research . Off the top of my head I've never seen serious research on the 1990's . But that's a topic that will have to really interest you . This site is excellent .
http://deadessays.blogspot.com/Forgive me for changing your title . It may be more helpful in getting some other perspectives .
edit - nothing like forgetting basic grammar

Heh, yeah. I heard about that. I guess the person teaching that class is some weird middle-aged guy who kind of stalks after her. Kind of creepy really.

I don't think that would work. That belongs on the fiction list.

Re: help |
I remember a thread in the past two weeks about this. I think the prevalent opinion is that their business model consisted of being dragged to it by their fans and luck.

Re: help |
How about traditional music played by the Grateful Dead and/or the Jerry Garcia Band.
Classic blues - Talk about Delta & Chicago blues and how it influenced Pigpen and the rest of the band.
Samson & Delilah
Spoonful
Little Red Roster
etc...
British sailing ballads was my first thought.
Jack-A-Roe
Lonesome Cabin Boy
etc...
Good luck with the paper.

Re: help |
I was thinking along these same lines, only following the path of traditional American music (bluegrass, spirituals, mountain music) and how JG evolved this music. Great path to follow, from his banjo bluegrass days, all the traditional tunes they covered (Mama Tried, Deep Elem, Peggy-O, Morning Dew, Bid You Goodnight), collaborations with Grisman later in life etc. Tie in Hunter's storytelling...

Re: help |
you are correct in that it is for a class: expository writing or english-111. assignment is just to write a research paper on the topic of our choice, either an in-depth expository topic or an argumenative based topic. i already wrote a paper comparing the dead in 1974 to 1984 if that matters to anyone in terms of their suggestions.
i like all these ideas.
