Whatever your beef is with the Dead - did they disappoint little I.S. by not being the pure counter-culture warriors that he dreamed of? Waaaahhhh! - you really should realize that none of us give a shit. I was never a big one for heroes, except the actual making-a-difference-in-the-world kind, so I never suffered the horrible disillusionment that you obviously did. I understood from the get-go that they were just a bunch of guys making music. I mean, they only said over and over again: "we are not leaders of any kind, we're a band making music." Why didn't you believe them when they said that? Maybe it's an intelligence thing. Stupid people tend to blindly follow anything that looks like it might lead them somewhere, then get furiously disappointed when their illusions are shattered. but nobody fed you those illusions: they were yours and yours alone, so man up and own them, you big whiny baby, and MOVE ON. xox

I think what you need to understand is that his bile-stained posts have nothing to do with the Dead and have everything to do with him being a desperate, lonely old man who can't make sense of this crazy world anymore. It's sad, really.
