Simple solution here. Do not allow internal links in the reviews. Seems like there are always enough of these poor excuses for humans going around. Notice that he provides no contact information on his web site.

Be careful following truncated links. It's a common way to direct people to malicious sites. You can examine the link first on LongURL.org, and based on the redirects, the links provided by NoMoreFat look very risky.

Cocky little poster - he has gone back in on the linked IA book above and deleted NoMore Fat's posting and now posted same spam using a new name of "enjoy your health".

This seems to be an enduring problem for IA and perhaps we need REPORT button so individually as we see these spammers reviews, we can delete them as such, and they won't know to go back and respam the same item again?

This new name doesn't have many spammed items yet. Probably alseep now in foreign country.

That's been suggested before. The problem with it that some people get click-happy and "report" anything they don't like, and admins don't always take the time to review what they are removing. On one site I frequently post at the rule is "five clicks and it's gone," with no explanation. I've had several posts removed under that rule.

I'm referring to a fairly popular news site (seattletimes.com), and they're dealing with thousands of posts daily. I don't agree with their rule, but they aren't really obligated to run their site democratically. I have to admit, it is fairly effective against spam. I don't know that the trade-off is worth it.

The trade off is definitely not worth it .

It seems like a packaged deal ; near complete freedom of lawful speech , with the spammers and trolls . I wish it could be another way .
