Forum: classic_cartoons Subject: A quest involving a blanket of stars???

For my mothers sake, could somebody please help me find this old animation!!?

The animation could be a short, a series or a movie- my mother doesn't know, she cant remember much. And I've pumped and massaged that old brain of hers for ages!!
Anyways:

It aired on TV in the late 50s, early 1960s.

It was about a quest of a prince or king. There may have been three kings or princes.

The princes/kings looked arabic like bedouins.

They were traveling in a desert (possibly to win the hand of a princess)

At some point a beautiful blanket of Stars is found. It is held up to show off the beautiful stars. I'm guessing these stars twinkled and stuff.

Thats it. If anyone could let me know if they recognize and know the name of that animation, please tell me what it is!!!!

Thanks :) :) :)

Boy, Christie, that's not a lot to go on. It's certainly a challenge, though. It'll be fun trying to piece it together.

There is a slight chance the film is “The Frog Princess”. It was an Argentine Film Festival winner directed by Mikhail and Vera Tsehanovsky. The story has three princes, one of whom has a bewitched wife. She weaves a carpet of stars that helps break a spell. This was one of several odd but pleasant cartoons shown as filler during the 1950’s. “The Golden Antelope” was another. If I can get a screen shot of the prince holding the carpet I will post it somewhere.
Now if only I could have someone find which film was made in the ‘A’ frame house by our lake in the winter of 1974 I would call it even.
