I notice that (at least some of?) the books indexed have SOME (perhaps incomplete) sort of entry in the "LCNUM" field. Please allow users to browse the collection by LC number. Thanks!

You are certainly allowed to search the collections by LC number, and if that information is available, those books will appear in your search results. Browsing by LC number seems pretty unlikely, though. I'm not even sure how we would organize that!

Well, molly, all I'd like you to do is also sort the collection as does a traditional library. For an extant online example (LC system) of this, see:
http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/subjects.html
An LC search could substitute IF (1) You link to an LC-system atlas & (2) You allow matching of an incomplete LC template by all compatible titles.

Find the "horse's mouth" concerning the LC outline at: http://www.loc.gov/catdir/cpso/lcco/lccowp.html
(But I think this is a limited-detail hierachy.)
To get the LC call number of a book, look it up at:

One nice thing about LOC classifications is that you can look at books nearby other books on the shelf, so to speak. I see a lot of electronic library catalogues offering this feature, and I certainly have used it in person with real shelves quite a lot over the years.
