Re: Tough (?) GD trivia question |
My first guess would be Blues For Allah - I think all (?) those songs were played at The Great American Music Hall 8/13/75.
Edit: I see now that the last two songs from Blues For Allah weren’t played (Sandcastles and Unusual Occurences) So, after some research I’ll offer another guess:
Providence 9/15/73 – they played every song on Wake Of The Flood.

Re: Tough (?) GD trivia question |
Good for you, D! I actually picked Aug 75 second too! That is, after scoring on May, 70 (albeit the judges are still debating my score...damn)...Hmmm, now if you are right with post 71, I have to again cry, "foul!" (but I think you are wrong, cause I just tried all the songs on Wake and it doesn't come up...again, the system may be failing due to how songs are listed...AHEM, another problem for the judges to sort out I am afraid).
Yeah, appears to be missing HCSS?:
"Beat It On Down The Line, Sugaree, Greatest Story Ever Told, Brown Eyed Women, Me & My Uncle, Ramble On Rose, Looks Like Rain, Deal, Jack Straw, Tennessee Jed, El Paso, Bird Song, Playin' In The Band Mississippi Half Step, Big River, Row Jimmy, Truckin'*-> Drums-> Eyes Of The World*, Let Me Sing*, Weather Report Suite Prelude*-> Weather Report Suite Part 1*-> Let It Grow*-> Stella Blue, Sugar Magnolia*, E: One More Saturday Night"*
*done from memory

Re: Tough (?) GD trivia question |
You were right the first time, IMO, in that I'm pretty sure the performance of Blues for Allah includes the whole thing--or at least close enough to count. Congrats!
9-15-73 is one of those all-but-one shows, missing Here Comes Sunshine.

The track listing on One From the Vault includes Sand Castles and Unusual Encounters along with Blues for Allah.

Re: Tough (?) GD trivia question |
Ah-ha! Well, then, if the judges will permit an appeal, I am angling for FULL partial credit!
You are saying the OFTV show does make it, right?
Then, if you were really serious about my "honor", here's exactly what I did when reading your post: "OK, best choice is Work, from May 70...(but couldn't pick a "day")...the other, is probably Aug, 75 (because I had the tape for so long, listened to it on the FM broadcast, etc., etc., and because it was sort of a "coming out" party for them and their record venture, etc.)".
Went to "you know where", tried "May, 70" with Work tracks, and bingo, then tried "Aug, 75" with BfAll tracks, but it failed...due to the diff in track names I assume (right?).
Hmmm, do I get partial for each or fine and disqualification for admitting it?
