250,000 free books-- Go Canada! |
Carole Moore, one of the greatest librarians I have every had the pleasure to work with, said years ago that she wanted to get at least 250,000 books up online from her library. While we still have 27,000 to go from the University of Toronto, we have now passed the 250,000 number from all Canadian libraries.
This is an amazing accomplishment for all of the Canadian libraries in a number of ways: they are working together to build collections across many institutions, got their own funding, establish scanning in Alberta Toronto, and have fun while doing it.
There are almost 50 people working in Canada doing this scanning over the last few years.
Go Canada!
