Not at all cheezy as I expected it to be. It was quite moving to actually see the flyboys. It makes the war seem real to someone who grew up only watching Hogan's Hero's. Makes you appreciate Archie Bunker, who was in the Army Air Force in Italy ;-)

I too was somewhat surprised by this film. It just makes me think of what good celebrity could be used for. EG, we don't see many celebrities joining up for service in Iraq now do we? We only just get "special appearances" now. It would be interesting if someone like, Leonardo Dicaprio or (god forbid) Frankie Muniz to enlist and make these bubbly movies for the War Department just to get people to Enlist.
