Off, topic, sorry - where do I post general IA ideas? |
Hello,
I am sorry to abuse your hospitality, but I need help
in properly using the Internet Archive forums.
How can I create a new forum?
Is there an existing forum to post general suggestions about the operation of the Internet Archives?
We'd all like to see the IA available without charge. But some people would be GLAD to pay (e.g. via PayPal) for ENHANCED services - like the ability to force a quick crawl of their Website as a means of third-party attestation, or the ability to access a thick pipe for downloading.

Only the Staff can create new forums. If you are looking for a place to post your ideas, try this:
http://www.archive.org/iathreads/forums.php#forumAnd if anybody cares, I personally would be strongly against the idea of the Archive doing any kind of "pay-for-privilege" program; that rather defeats, in my opinion, the "spirit" of open-source/open-licensed materials. Just my two cents. Although I'm sure there are many other sites that would be interested, I can't see the Archive going toward this model. But thanks for the idea: I still think you should post it in the forum I gave the link to above. Who lnows, I might be the only one to be against it! :)
