road t-rip offs vol 2 no 4. |
Just got my copy of RT vol 2 no 4.( post is slow i could nearly have walked to california and collected it quicker)
Would i be correct in assuming 15 minutes of drums and all of space is missing. I know its a road trip but kinda spoils the effect, especially as Mr. Jackson speaks so eloquently about them in the liner notes...

I got this last week....I am a little disappointed as I feel that the sound really isn't all that terrific. Kind of ironic, but I really feel that the sound quality is far superior on the both the wall of sound and the carousel ballroom release.
The Pure Jerry 78 is off the charts awesome though :-)

Re: road t-rip offs vol 2 no 4. |
It seems to me they could have structured this thing a little better, but there may be some problems in the dr/space portion. I have thought this ever since the first DPs, that a little blurb, on why, one thing was chosen over another,or left out, even if is an artistic decision I don't agree with, would have helped us appreciate the work they do to get these out . I agree the sound is not super stellar, but that may be the nature of the original equipment, both on stage, and the recording rig . Still, this is the kind of show the RTs series is good for .
And yes, the new Pure Jerry is AWESOME . In fact , I think the sound is better that the 93 era Dead show !
