Santa wasn't created by coca-cola, but isn't his costume? I'm pretty sure that the red/white santa costume was first used in a coca-cola commercial.

I've even been to the Thomas Nast house in Morristown, NJ.... he also is credited as being the first to depict a donkey and elephant for the respective political parties...
His Santa Claus' though are top notch.
