Yes, the site will automatically make a zip package from the mp3 files. Usually by a few hours after upload you will see the link on the left side of the page under "Play / Download".

Examples:
http://www.archive.org/details/AlJolson
see "Whole directory"

http://www.archive.org/details/AbdulWaliAlArkani
see "VBR ZIP"

Also, sending normal mp3 files will make the black easy-play radio on the page for any visitor. So, I can quickly hear that Abdul Wali Al Arkani has a beautiful voice.
