There are some moral and ethical questions as to the renewal ownership but the film appears to have been properly renewed.

You have to type "Plan Nine From Outer Space" to get the renewals on the USCOdb.

This is common for films with numerals in the titles. It also happens the other way round - "The Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake" is renewed as "4 Skulls of Jonathan Drake" even though it was registered under the on screen title.

Quite so about:

The online CO records on "Plan 9" actually give "Plan Nine" (spelled out) as an alternate title -- which is a pretty good signal to anyone visiting that record that you should follow up on that variation!
