Forum: general Subject: How Do I Copy an Unrestricted File and Paste It Onto My Page?

How may I copy and paste a file (only a file) from one IA posting (posted by some other member) to a page of my own without having to download and re-upload that file? I tried a few things, and they didn’t work, e.g., drag & drop gave me a permanent “Please wait while your files are loaded” message. I didn’t see this addressed in the knowledge database, but maybe I was looking for the wrong description.

For example, let’s say someone has a lot of old catalogs posted, and one is a 678-MB “1899 Hatfield Sales Catalog” (with no restrictions) Now supposed I have a page dedicated to Hatfield catalogs, and am missing the 1899 issue, and let’s say my terrible Spectrum-Charter WiFi makes it impossible to re-upload that PDF, and suppose also there’re no Internet Upload Manager apps available to help with large file uploads. How can I quickly copy and paste that other member’s file onto my page?

I would assume this file-transfer process would be allowed by IA as it’d help reduce in/out data transfer (especially for big files). Finally, if this process were allowed it’d be nice to perform it for multiple files (e.g., highlight a group of files). That is, I’m looking to do what MS Windows Explorer allows me to to do with highlighting a listing of files, copying them, and then pasting them elsewhere.

Thanks for your help.
