Forum: general Subject: We need way to request a rederive here

.
Thanks for the tip... I'll try.
.
Usually I use torrent (Transmission) but many IA uploads need to be rederived, and unless the original uploader does that, the torrent file for that upload is useless.
.
Anyone have an idea for getting uploads rederived here when the original uploader is not doing so for whatever reason? What if the original uploader is no longer "with us?" It would be nice to have a system where we can make a simple rederive request on the upload page, e.g., a blue button marked "request rederive." Just blue skyin'.

Forum: general Subject: Free Download Manager -- my first trials were trying

.
First, thanks to JK for the email address and advice re new derives.
.
On the Free Download Manager (FDM), at times it works well. However, in just a short time I've encountered two types of errors, and some of the downloads have been corrupted.
.
On the errors, the first error type (happened 3 times) I don't remember the exact wording of, but it had to do with "resource moved" or some such thing. I clicked on something telling FDM to fix it, and it did. The second error is on the attached snip. That page is still posted, so it's not a matter of the item being taken down, I assume. I'll try again later on. This error has happened on two different download attempts.
.
On the files being corrupt, I have no proof what caused that. I often will be trying to watch an MP4 of an old TV show, and I'll get to the middle of the show, and my $32 Sony (as in, Sony, The One & Only -- which doesn't rhyme!) smart DVD player will state the file is corrupt, and skip to the next MP4. Some of the files I downloaded using FDM ended up as "part" MP4's. Some refused to unzip with Windows Explorer's unzipper, or with 7-Zip. Weird. That page had no light-green bar indicating a derive was underway, so I assume the files were OK at IA's end.
