I got someone from the Archive to say the following:

"The new JSON backend makes almost all downloads look differently in the apache logs. I changed the code accordingly. I will re-run the last 30 days, but that will take several days to process."

So I think this means that in a few days we'll have the stats back, at least for the last 30 days.

From the Archive admins:

"As some of you have noticed, our downloads counts were wrong on some days. (Thanks for letting us know!)

We did a thorough investigation, and found that sometimes the collection of some download logs from the cluster machines failed. We re-wrote major parts of the programs that collect and calculate the download counts, and it is much more reliable and accurate now. All downloads for the last 30 days have been re-calculated, and are up-to-date.

As before, details pages always show download counts calculated on the day before. Downloads counts on collection pages get updated less often, usually weekly."
