More Classic Coke/Pepsi Commercials, Please! |
Ok then. Do you have anymore Coca-Cola or Pepsi commercials? Seems odd that they were two big advertisers during the 50's/60's/70's yet hardly any of their ads have been uploaded. Did coke or pepsi trash them? (Heck, if NBC can destroy every copy of one of Jimi Hendrix's few TV appearences, then anything is quite sadly possible! Heck, where I live, Australia, there is not a single archivist doing great work like you Mr Ricky, so hardly any commercials exist from the 50's/60's here apart from some GM and Fly Spray commercials.)
I take it then, Mr Rick, God of all film archivists, then you won't mind if I upload kinescoped commercials for Lucky Strikes and Skippy Peanut Butter? Oh yeah, Mr Rick, I just become a film archivist...I now have a dozen one-of-a-kind 8mm prints. Ok they are just my grandmother's charming old home movies but surely they must have some historic worth, right? And to continue this already off-topic post, I'm making VHS recordings of the Australian Home Shopping Channel, since the Australian Film and Sound Archive doesn't have a single broadcast by them. Well, I believe even the worst garbage is worth preserving, and last time I checked the Australian home shopping channel is garbage!
Now, back to topic, will you upload more coke/pepsi commercials?

This post verges on the bizarre, I'm not sure what your criticism of this free service is exactly; you seem awfully demanding for what is essentially a goodwill service not a human right.
If you really, really need these commercials, I'd suggest you contact Getty images or the Coke / Pepsi corporations, I'm sure they can help you if you have the budget...

Hey, I know where you're coming from, folks like us tend to be up at all hours pouring over videos and such...I guess I mistook your humorous comments as sarcasm...it's so hard to tell sometimes as the internet does not transmit such feelings accurately!

I hate sarcasm, I try to avoid it. I'm serious you know, I'm hoping to become a film archivist but it's very hard where I live, so just getting grandma's home movies was great. However, My prized collectable is a VHS tape I made of Nickelodeon Australia back in september 2001, it features an announcment that two planes have crashed into the World Trade Center. It's just a scrolling text, but it'a a scrolling text which is worth more than a entire seasons worth of "Flavor of Love".
