Re: It's not a feature film, But is "I Married Joan" under copyright or not?? |
they were supmited for copyright renewal in 1956 yes .. and as far as i know only 24 episodes of the 98 producet between 1952-55 are in the public domain
when it says "Type of Work: Entry not found" that ment that the party who submited the copyright form to the copyright office forgot to fill out the TYPE OF WORK (sript, musik, movie whatever) in the form .. not sure if such an copyright form is valid then ..

Ok then. Are the episodes uploaded public domain or not? Because my good friend Lum uploaded them and I really enjoyed having them on IA. She/He said that they were taken from cheap budget DVDs.

I dunno the episode titles. While I'm at it, is 50's-era "Grand Old Opry" radio episodes PD or not? Because I have some audio recordings from some episodes, which have been released by over 20 different budget CD labels.

Quote from the Library of Congress about the status of old time radio recordings made prior to 1978.
"All such recordings are generally in the public domain, as sound recordings were not allowed under the previous copyright law and that such recordings have not been granted copyright status under the new laws (since to change their status and move them out of the Public Domain would be a violation of Ex-Post-Facto). Once a piece is placed into the public domain for any reason, it remains there legally unless someone brings a case to the Supreme Court to decide otherwise."
