Do you have an example of a file you wish to read / download?
Also, how do you define 'reading'? (I am asking because strictly speaking, opening a file in a web browser or text editor will allow you to do that, even if the experience would be a bit clunky.)

Coulter's "North American species of Cactus" This one is only in XML.
