Firstly, I'd like to know if this service would support .asx files, and if they'd work properly.

Secondly- I tried ussing the url http://freecache.org to preface all my large video links and I still do not see any real improvement- is there something more that must be done? Or will it only cache it if enough people use it? Also, I dont see any of my links on the 'Detailed Status' page.

As a side point I was wondering how this service works- does it actually store all the info somewhere and becomes basically like another server to help with the bandwidth demands?

Thanks,
Lenny

If your .asx files are over 5MB, it will cache them. Otherwise, I think .asx files are generally just pointers to a server that will stream data for the users. If you want to use Freecache, let your users download the files and then, if they are over 5MB, use Freecache.

I think the key to getting better speeds is just waiting a little while. It might take several users to download your files before many of the freecache servers have it.
