Do you have any footage of early 50's/mid-50's refrigerators? I need it for birthday gift to my Grandmother (I'm making a DVD of the 50's). Also, It would be nice if you could upload some more Oldsmobile commercials, since they have become extremly facinating since oldsmobile "Bit the dust".

P.S. thanks for preserving this stuff, I can't get enough of the 30's Jam Handy films.

Hi, didn't see this until now.

There is a bunch of refrigerator footage up already -- search kitchens, housework, food, etc. More will go up in the next wave of uploading, which will start in February or March -- 500 new films total.

Thanks. BTW, Will any of the new films be from "Jam Handy"? I could watch Jam Handy films all day, they are such facinating time capsules, and it would be great for there to be more on IA.

Yes, more Jam Handy would be nice.

And please, more films from the Calvin vaults.

Rick,

Wonderful news on the coming additions! I think I've watched every film on the archive since it went live in 2001. If you're taking requests, I think we all would love to see more Sid Davis, and I also think the quirky Emily Benton Frith films are lovely time capsules... (Who doesn't love JAY CAN DO IT?)

Have you seen Sid Advis' Users-Losers (1971). I was in it as a child, but can't find it.

Great news! May I ask how long the wave will last? I do custom screengrabs from the shorts for my caption website, and I want to know if I should train an apprentice to finish my grabbing within a few months after they're all released.

(I'd offer my hand picked grabs to the archive to replace the thumbnails, but since they tend to be picked for editorial reasons other than showing off the movie, I'm not sure they'd be helpful to the archive. But if the archive's interested, I can send along some samples.)

Rick,

I can't contain my excitement over this new batch of uploads!...very very very much appreciated.

Just a quick question, do you have any plans to re-encode some very important films such as "Duck and Cover" to match the exceptional quality of such mpeg2 files as "The Middleton's" film?

Many many thanks...
