Try using a third party downloading program that supports resuming interrupted downloads. That way if (when) the download cuts out, you can resume from where you left off.

This is a FAQ, please see When I download concerts, I constantly get disconnected before the download completes. What can I do to fix this?

Okay, I re-read that part of the FAQ's. Do you mean I need to use an actual program instead of this way that Windows XP allows me to simply get to the FTP server by clicking the FTP link on the page, view the files in there, and choose "Copy to folder"? Is this function in XP an actual FTP program, or is it something else, and can it be used somehow to continue the download if it gets interrupted? Like I explained, it gets to about 10% remaing and it freezes up at that point. NOTE: I downloaded "Werewolf of Washington" with NO problem whatsoever late this afternoon, and for that film I used the HTTP link for it....the one on that film's page which says MPEG2 (2.5 GB)....and I simply chose "Save Target As..." to download it. Took 90 minutes almost, but got the ENTIRE movie. The Stooges film I keep having problems with I was able to download last year with no problem, but now I'm thinking there's a problem with that file and that's why it keeps cutting off before the end credits complete.

Hello Greg. Sorry to hear your not having any luck with this movie. I normally use the MSN/Verizon browser. It has a download manager and works very well for me. As a test, I went into plain old Windows Internet Explorer (I prefer to upload files using that browser). I downloaded the file in 40 minutes, checked it and it worked fine. I know this does not help you, but I have downloaded the file 3 times in 24 hours using 2 browsers and I assure you the file is intact and works fine. I play it on the media player and it plays the ending with no problems. You might want to check your security settings, but if you got Werewolf in Washington, I don't see why this file won't download for you. One final note. Have you checked to make sure you have enough space available on the hard drive? If you downloaded several files/movies lately it could be full. I know it's not likely, but its one of the few reasons I can think of to explain why the file keeps blowing out. Best of luck to you......

PLENTY of drive space (got a 143gb drive, with about 75% space available). I just wonder if....when it gets down to that last 10% remaining....if I'm not waiting long enough for it to complete by itself? BUT then again, that other movie downloaded just fine, and I suspect that two Lugosi films I want to get again will also download fine....Any other ideas as to what's going on with this Stooges film?

Since the Werewolf is a larger file, and I know the Stooges file is intact it makes no sense to me. I will say that several times in the past I have had to download a movie several times (say, more than 3) to get a good copy. I love the Archive, but it is not uncommon for them to have server problems. They are based in California so they are several hours behind us. If a server goes down or acts up late at night it can be several hours before anyone realizes it. I also believe they often do maintenance on late Thursday night going into Friday. I avoid the archive on weekends, it is just too busy. This is a popular movie, and if several people all start to download the movie at the same time it might overwhelm the server. The weird part is you got Werewolf (A bigger file). That makes me think this file should be a breeze for you. I don't really believe you need a special program to download it, and I don't think the file itself is at fault. I regret I don't have a better answer for you. If it was me, I would just keep trying. Best wishes!

Last night before turning in (around 1:30 am), I started downloading three movies: Phantom Ship, Mysterious Mr Wong, and this Stooges one AGAIN. The other two downloaded perfectly....but not this Stooges one again. Seems no matter what time of day or night, it doesn't quite complete. Yeah, I know it's just a few seconds of the end credits, but still...
