I have tried multiple times and with many of the books that I have bookmarked, and tried logging out/in again to refresh.
No matter what I do, using my original account login details I get this:
"Limited Preview Some Pages are omitted Use your free account to borrow this book and gain access to all pages".
I am already logged in when I get this message.
After my initial joy at finding the Internet Archive, I am now frustrated.
Can anyone advise what to do to restore me to the original situation where I could borrow freely for 1 Hour blocks at a time? 2 months or so ago when I first joined, I was able to read this book: https://archive.org/details/jumbomakingofboe0000irvi/page/n9/mode/2up happily in 1 hour blocks. Now, I only have the "Limited Preview....." message. A few days ago, I started to read this: https://archive.org/details/centuryseriesusa0000spit/page/84/mode/2up with success, but now also get the "Limited Preview" message. I don't imagine that my arcane books dealing with Aviation would be on any "best seller" list these days, or currently in high demand. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your help.
I did NOT want to delete cookies etc. as you suggested as it will, I am sure you know, require resetting all of the passwords at the websites I visit.
I have found a difference in the presence of the "Borrow" "window" as I would call it.
My normal browser is "Opera". Since Saturday, I was experiencing the problem I described before. Refreshing my login has not helped. I took an image of the Opera browser page - with the "borrow" "window" missing. See image "Opera Browser". I then used "Firefox" browser(and "Mypal" as well) which I do not use much, if at all. After loggin on to Firefox(and Mypal), I am able to use the Archive correctly in 1 hour blocks as per normal. See image "Firefox Browser". So, the problem seems to be with my Opera Browser, which WAS working correctly earlier. I have tried to reset it, with no success. I am happy enough to use the other browsers for now instead of Opera, but it indicates that there may be some sort of problem that you, or IA, might like to look into, because it would be good if I could access using my regular Opera browser.
Thanks again for your prompt assistance.
Kind regards,John.

I know this is an old post but here goes. Doing browser updates usually fixes problems like this.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Despite system resets and the like, and using what I am informed to be the latest browser in "Opera", it is still not working.
I have had to use an alternative browser which is inconvenient but manageable.
I don't understand why administrators can't reset the account to prevent all this muck around.
Thanks again.

Exactly same issue. It's beyond me how this error is not fixed for such a long time... Shame

I have the same problem, switched browsers & still not permitted to borrow any book at all, no matter how obscure or common. I even tried the Bible.

I don't know how to update a browser, but I guess I can try to figure it out. This seems very messy, a systemic problem that shouldn't exist. I'm in rural Baja Sur & I will miss this resource very badly if I can't fix this.
